Pride Bigger Than Texas Parade: Walk with the Chamber!
Join Us at the 2024 Pride Bigger Than Texas Parade!
The San Antonio LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce invites you to participate in San Antonio?s Official Pride celebration and largest LGBTQ+ Night Parade on June 29th, starting at 9:00 pm.
This year, we have the honor of carrying ?A Piece of History: The Gilbert Baker Rainbow Flag.?
Gilbert Baker, the world-famous political activist, designer, and flag-maker, created the Rainbow Flag in 1978. Commissioned by Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in California, the original flag had eight colors. The rainbow is historically a symbol of hope. In 2003, to celebrate the Rainbow Flag's 25th anniversary, Baker created a record-breaking flag for Key West Pride, stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. This flag was later divided into sections distributed to over 100 cities globally. The section we'll carry at this year's parade, section 102, is an authentic piece designed and sewn by Gilbert Baker himself.
Register now to walk in the parade and help carry this piece of history.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to celebrate and honor our community's rich history. Let's come together and make this year's Pride Bigger Than Texas Parade unforgettable!
